1. 沿着某条线或方向:
We walked along the beach. (我们沿着海滩行走)
We walked along (the side of) the road. (我们沿着路边行走)
The chairs were lined up along the wall. (椅子沿着墙被排成一行)
The ship sailed along the coast. (这艘船沿着海岸航行)

2. 在某一地点:
They have a house along [=alongside] the river. (他们在河边某一处有一栋房子)
We drove to Boston and we stopped along the way for lunch. (我们开车到波士顿, 我们在路途中停下来吃中饭)
