01. _______ Jupiter, amateur astronomers with good telescopes should be able to see the comet within the next few weeks.
a) Although just inside the orbit of
b) Orbiting just inside
c) Just inside the orbit of
d) Although it is just inside the orbit of

02. Changing the oil every 3,000 miles, ___________.
a) the car seemed to run better
b) we can keep our car running smoothly
c) there is an easy way to keep your car running smoothly
d) the car was kept in excellent condition
选择a是错在车子(the car)被修饰; 选择c错在an easy way被修饰; 选择d也错在车子(the car)被修饰.

If we change the oil every 3,000 miles, the car would run better或者The car would run better if we change the oil every 3,000 miles;

03. At age seven, ___________.
a) she lost her grandfather
b) her grandfather passed away
c) her mother lost her father
d) it was tragic that her grandfather passed away

04. Having finished the dinner, ___________.
a) the waitress offered to bring out the dessert tray
b) it was raining hard
c) the sky turned dark
d) I walked back to my hotel

After I had finished the dinner, the waitress offered to bring out the dessert tray.
After I had finished the dinner, it was raining hard.
After I had finished the dinner, the sky turned dark.
