03. can, the
定义: [俚语]厕所, 马桶; 监狱; 臀部.
例句: He locked himself in the can and wouldn't come out. (他把他自己锁在厕所里不出来)

04. Can/Would you believe it?
[成语句型]你会相信吗? (注: 意指一件令人吃惊之事是真的, 令人匪夷所思)

05. canary in a coal mine, a
定义: 矿工带着金丝雀入矿坑作探测毒气的预警装置.
例句: I love that guy. He's like a canary in a coal mine: he can spot trouble coming in the market from a mile away. (我好喜欢这个人. 他像一只矿坑里的金丝雀: 打老远他就能认出将要来临股市的麻烦)

定义: [俚语]线民, 向警方报信的人, 打小报告的人.

定义: [易混淆字或片语]cannot跟can not同义, 大部份时候可以互用; 但是在强调某件事不能做时候, 你必须要使用can not.

14. cannot/can't but
定义: 不能不..., 忍不住..., 情不自禁.
例句: Anyone who reads the book cannot but feel sympathy for him. (任何阅读这本书的人肯定会同情他. 注: 这句话可以先写为: Anyone who reads the book must feel sympathy for him; 再翻译成中文比较容易)

15. cannot/can't do something to save your life
定义: 根本没有这个技能. (注: 如果有人说你can't sing to save her life, 他是说你根本不会唱歌)
例句: You can't cook to save your life, so why did you think that you could pull off a romantic candlelit dinner for two? (你根本不会烧饭, 你凭什么认为你能够成功地做出富有情调的两人份烛光晚餐?)

16. cannot/can't help
定义: 不能不..., 忍不住..., 情不自禁.
例句: I know I shouldn't eat any more, but I can't help myself. (我知道我不应该再吃了, 但我实在忍不住)

17. canny player, a
定义: 精明的参赛者/玩家.
例句: He's a canny player of the stock market. (他是一个精明的股市玩家)

18. canon law, the
定义: [法律术语]教会法规.
例句: A canon is an established rule, or body of rules, for guidance. Canon law is the body of laws governing the Catholic Church. (教会法规是一个作为指导的政府承认的法规, 或法规的主体. 教会法规是规范天主教会的法律主体)

19. can't afford to
定义: 买不起, 付不出, 无法承受, 无法提供.
例句: This is an opportunity we can't afford to miss. (我们承受不起错过这个机会的后果)

定义: 极端同意你的看法.
